Natural Form is a project I have chosen myself, my inspiration comes from the forest. I want to create a garment that resembles the forest floor and the unseen beauty of nature. I started this project by researching different artists who are also inspired by nature, I found Anya Gallaccio, Sue Hotchkis, Leight Martin, Heather Collins and Alexander McQueen. I created contextual sketchbook pages for each and created samples inspired by their work as well as nature. Then, I created drawings using bleach and fineliner which reflect the photographs I took as they capture the essence of the inspiration for this project. I have started to create samples inspired by my main artist, Sue Hotchkis, I have experimented with felting to create different textures and appearances. I will also create samples inspired by Anya Gallaccio, using real flowers and create a garment that combines the two artists techniques.
