‘The White Show is a celebrated annual project for which every first-year BA Fashion student creates a look from a piece of white fabric’ UAL, Central Saint Martins. I was challenged with this same project. I started this project by creating a concept board inspired by The White Show collections from previous years and also incorporated paper manipulation techniques. The garment I created used a large piece of white fabric as well as printing paper, cartridge paper and tracing paper. I started by creating a wrap top style for the bodest and a floor-length skirt. The final piece evolved into a V-neck, backless dress, with a miniskirt created using large pieces of cartridge paper to create cone shapes, the cones angle towards the right side of the garment to create an asymmetric hemline. I created texture on the top of the dress by making rosettes out of scrap materials and different types of paper to create definition and balance out the garment.
